Lab-grown diamonds, explained
The same stone as a mined diamond, grown in weeks instead of formed over millions of years.
A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond: pure carbon arranged in the same crystal structure, with the same hardness and the same way of bending light. The difference is where it formed. Instead of growing deep underground over millions of years, it grows over a few weeks from a tiny diamond seed, in conditions that recreate the heat and pressure of the earth.
Can anyone tell the difference?
Not by eye, and not with a jeweller's loupe. Gem laboratories identify lab-grown stones with specialised equipment, and every lab-grown diamond we set of 0.7 ct or more comes with an independent grading report that says so.
Why choose one?
- Value. For the same size and grade, a lab-grown diamond costs a fraction of a mined one, so you can choose a larger or finer stone.
- Traceability. We know where each stone was grown.
- Quality. We set only stones graded colour F or better and clarity VS1 or better.
What we offer
Every engagement ring comes with a lab-grown option in three grades. Compare them on the product page, or book a video appointment to see them side by side.
